Monster is a 1980 American horror movie directed by Kenneth Hartford.
A corrupt chemical company's pollution of a Colombian lake creates a monster sea serpent that attacks the local villagers. The company then sends a specialist to destroy the giant snake and also to keep the company's part in the monster's creation out of the newspapers. The movie is based on a real event that took place in June of 1971. The movie was first announced in 1975 titled Monster, and was eventually released in 1980 as Monstroid, and is also known as Monstroid: It Came from the Lake and The Toxic Horror.
